About the Role

A luxury furniture manufacturer is seeking a skilled Technical Designer with a background in cabinet making or high-end furniture making to join its design team.

This is a design-focused role, not a workshop position, but the successful candidate must bring first-hand cabinet making/furniture making experience. Your practical knowledge of how furniture is constructed will be vital in creating accurate, production-ready drawings that meet the highest standards of craftsmanship.

You'll work closely with project managers, production teams, and skilled makers to ensure all designs are both practical and precise, helping deliver exceptional bespoke projects.

What's on Offer

* Monday to Friday, daytime hours

* Collaborative, design-led environment working on unique, high-end projects

* Opportunity to develop your expertise in technical design for luxury furniture

* Supportive team culture with scope for professional growth

Key Responsibilities

* Create accurate 3D models and detailed technical drawings using SolidWorks and CAD software

* Ensure designs are production-ready, applying your hands-on understanding of cabinet/furniture making

* Collaborate with project managers and workshop teams to deliver solutions efficiently

* Contribute to design problem-solving and innovation across bespoke projects

* Maintain precision and consistency throughout all design documentation

What We're Looking For

* Essential: Previous experience as a cabinet maker, furniture maker, or in high-end joinery, before moving into design

* Proven proficiency in SolidWorks and strong CAD skills

* Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability

* Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into technical outputs

* Strong communication skills and a collaborative, hands-on approach
