SALARY: £17500 - £18500/annum

We are currently recruiting for a Children's Residential Support Worker in the Preston area

This fantastic opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and capable individual looking to make a positive change to the lives of young people. You will join a well established team working in a 3 bed EBD residential home.

Permanent

This is a full time role which will require you to work on a shift rota basis including days, nights and weekends. You will be required to work every other weekend and shifts run from 8 am - 10 pm. There are occasional short days (2pm - 10pm) and the rota runs with a heavy week and a light week.

Responsibilities

* Working in conjunction with the management team, you will ensure that each young person has their needs met through effective assessment and care planning.

* You will review and monitor care plans/contribute to review reports as directed

* You will support and participate in young people's social, life-long learning plans and recreational activities in line with care plans, trips out and holidays.

* You will act as a Key worker to specified individual young person, taking on responsibility for specified areas of care and support. This includes ensuring all medical needs are met and supporting the young person to advocate his/her own needs and wishes.

Requirements:

* You will have previous experience working with challenging behaviours

* It is desirable to hold Diploma Level 3 Children young people.

* It is also desirable that you hold a full valid driving license and have access to a vehicle

* You will have a proven ability to work on your own initiative and work as part of a team

* You will have knowledge and understanding of issues relating to people with emotional and challenging behaviours

* You will have the ability to communicate effectively with young people, colleagues, family members, manager and other persons with legitimate interest in the project.
