Mobility Equipment Engineer

New Forest/South Coast
£32,000 to £34,000 + Van + Benefits

A growing engineering business is looking for a Mobility Equipment Engineer to join its field service team covering the areas surrounding the New Forest.

This role focuses on inspecting, servicing and maintaining specialist lifting and care equipment used within healthcare and care environments. It is a hands on engineering role where the work you carry out plays a direct part in keeping equipment safe and operational for people who rely on it every day.

Full training and long term development are available, making this a strong opportunity for engineers who enjoy field based work and want a stable career within a specialist sector.

The Role

You will visit customer sites to inspect, service and maintain lifting and patient handling equipment.

Responsibilities include:

* Carrying out LOLER inspections and planned maintenance on care equipment
* Fault finding and carrying out repairs where required
* Ensuring equipment meets safety standards and compliance regulations
* Identifying worn components and recommending remedial work
* Completing service reports, inspection documentation and job sheets
* Managing your own schedule and maintaining van stock and equipment
* Delivering a professional and customer focused service on site

Most work takes place within care homes, hospitals, and healthcare environments across the South Coast around the New Forest area but can at times require travel further afield.

About You

This role would suit someone with experience with Mobility Equipment or LOLER inspections, or even an experienced Field service engineer looking to move into the sector.

Relevant backgrounds could include mobility equipment, stairlifts, patient handling equipment, lifting systems or general mechanical service engineering.

Experience that would be beneficial includes:

* LOLER inspection experience
* Field service or maintenance engineering background
* Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
* Understanding of health and safety procedures
* Ability to work independently in the field
* Full UK driving licence

Engineering qualifications in mechanical or electrical disciplines are beneficial but not essential as training is available.

Package

£32,000 to £34,000 basic salary
