Financial Controller 

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join our well-established client based in Bedminster, Bristol, on a full-time permanent basis.

Shift: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm and Friday 8am - 2.45pm  

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, dependant on experience

Day-to-day duties:

As a Financial Controller, your duties will include (but not be limited to):

• Manage accounting records and oversee all financial reporting
• Prepare monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and ad-hoc reports for group
• Monitor expenditure and analyse financial data to support decision-making
• Control cash flow, oversee credit control, and manage supplier payments
• Work with Group Treasury to maintain bank account balances
• Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and internal financial controls
• Co-ordinate audit processes and ensure accurate reporting to senior management
• Lead and support a small finance team, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, and staff data function

Essential skills:

To be successful as a Financial Controller you will need:

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in finance management and control
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
• Highly organised with a flair for numbers and attention to detail
• Ability to meet strict reporting deadlines
• Proficient in accounting software and Excel
• Experience working with auditors and regulatory compliance

Desirable experience:

• Previous experience within a manufacturing or SME environment
• Knowledge of Pegasus Opera or similar accounting systems
• Experience managing and developing small finance teams
• Commercial awareness and ability to support wider business strategy

Training:

• Full training will be provided, with ongoing development and support
