2BM Recruitment are working in partnership with our heavy engineering manufacturing client in Sheffield with an opportunity for a permanent Mechanical Engineer / Fitter. Working 3 shifts Monday to Friday, 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm & 10pm - 6am This is a great opportunity to join a company with excellent staff retention and continuous success with the investment of people and machinery.
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Fitter paying circa £35,700 plus overtime and annual increments. Excellent benefits package including 33 days annual leave (inc 8 bank holidays), increasing to 37 with service, Health care, pension, and parking. Within this role you'll be working in a team environment and report to the Maintenance Supervisor. You will be responsible for all PPM and reactive maintenance issues with a range of heavy machinery, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
Key Responsibilities
* Servicing, repairing, stripping down, and rebuilding mechanical assemblies.
* Machining and sourcing new parts as required.
* Be involved in implementing new machinery and the associated problem solving.
* Conduct preventative scheduled and breakdown maintenance duties.
We're extremely keen to talk to candidates who have experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Fitter, Maintenance Engineer, or similar roles that have:
* Experience within heavy engineering, manufacturing, steelworks, or steel processing environment.
* Ideally you will be apprentice trained however relevant experience is also accepted.
* You'll have a 'can do' attitude and be a natural problem solver with excellent communication skills, as well as be able to work as part of a team.
* Ability to follow instruction and work safely always adhering to health and safety.
