Our client, a Tier One MEP contractor known for delivering complex, high-value projects across the UK, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction / Quality Manager to join their team. This role will focus on managing mechanical construction quality across major healthcare and data centre projects.

Role Overview

You will take ownership of the mechanical quality assurance process, ensuring all systems—from HVAC to critical plantrooms—are installed and commissioned to the highest standards. You will work closely with project teams, the supply chain, and client representatives to ensure compliance, drive quality, and deliver excellence across multiple live projects.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and implement mechanical QA/QC systems for healthcare and data centre environments

*

Review and approve ITPs, method statements, commissioning plans, and test documentation

*

Conduct regular inspections, audits, and snagging of mechanical installations

*

Ensure compliance with HTM (Health Technical Memoranda), data centre resilience standards (Tier III/IV), and all applicable regulations

*

Coordinate with design, construction, and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle

*

Lead quality briefings and training for site teams and subcontractors

*

Maintain thorough documentation and reporting to support project delivery and client assurance

*

Support root cause analysis and resolution of non-conformances

*

Act as a key liaison with client QA/QC teams during inspections and handover phases

Requirements

*

Proven experience in mechanical construction quality management within healthcare and/or mission-critical environments (e.g. data centres)

*

Deep knowledge of mechanical systems, installation standards, and commissioning practices

*

Strong understanding of UK building regulations, HTM standards, and Uptime Institute / BSRIA guidance

*

HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering

*

Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills

*

SMSTS and valid CSCS Manager Card preferred
