Business Development Manager - Midlands - £45k + uncapped commission If you can sell a pen, you can sell a rocket. The principles are largely the same. It’s just a case of learning about what you’re selling and the people you’re selling to. So, if you’re fed up where you are, you can move. But where? Want less stress? Somewhere with an in-demand product and little competition? Want more freedom? Some travel to visit your customers at their offices, but based from home? Want more money? Somewhere with uncapped commission on top of your already high base? Maybe you’re in a sector that’s not coping with the digital revolution very well and you’re starting to see the writing on the wall. Maybe you’d like to join a business that is the digital revolution. A business that’s doing something interesting in Big Data Analytics. Picture a manager at a big FMCG company (and they are big), their brain fried from looking at stats and digits and trying to retrieve some kind of actionable insight from all those rows of data. At this company you’ll be selling Software as a Service (SaaS) that takes FMCG companies’ ugly data and turns it into something beautiful. Something visual. Something they can actually use because it’s so easily interpretable. A recent Forbes article said over 50% of companies are adopting big data. It also said that 95% of companies need it. So, whilst it would be irresponsible of us to suggest selling this product is easy – it really isn’t difficult if you know how to make it easy for people to buy and have a work ethic. You’d be selling water to the thirsty. But look, just because it’s a great product doesn’t mean anyone can do it. A bad salesperson could still mess it up, if they’re not convincing. That’s where you come in. You don’t necessarily need to know about the FMCG market. If you do, great. If not, we’ll help with personalised onboarding from industry experts. The role is all new business, but there are also lots of warm leads in the shape of companies using a free version of the product. You won’t be wasting time on admin and you’ll be doing what you do best – developing relationships, closing deals and making money. Speaking of money, the commission’s uncapped. It’s threshold-based. The highest level is very achievable, because people are already doing it now. You’re not necessarily one of those privileged few who were “born” good at sales, but you became good by understanding selling and by putting the effort in. You get the theory of persuasion and you can analyse why you’re successful. Not that different to the solution you’ll be selling here, actually. You’ve put the hours in with volume sales. You’ve managed sales pipelines from first contact through to close. Now you want something better. You’re probably living in the Midlands, however we can be flexible on location if you’re right person. You’ll also need to be capable of working from home. Send us your CV.
