The Gate House Operative is responsible to ensure all inbound deliveries are checked recorded into the Tilbury movement sheet and send to the correct delivery point, to ensure all outbound deliveries are loaded with the correct product and dispatched according to the instruction issued. Ensure that only authorised vehicles and pedestrian enter the plant, ensuring good communication with the production coordinators and cement millers & shovel drivers for inbound deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• To ensure that the inbound materials arriving on site are weighed and recorded in the movement sheet, Instructions including inductions are given to the drivers and then sent to the correct dispatch point for discharge.
• To ensure that outbound vehicles are loaded with the correct product and dispatched to the correct delivery point as issued by logistics/SAP system.
• Ensuring concise and accurate information is entered into the movement sheet.
• Ensure that drivers/visitors coming to site are challenged on arrival for the UK safety essentials requirements and have undergone a full induction.
• Ensure housekeeping in the dispatch office is to the highest standard.
• Support and assist the production team as and when required.
• Carry out your duties in a safe and effective manner, ensuring that, by your actions, you do not endanger yourself of any other person who may be affected by your actions and that you comply with your quality and environmental responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation and standards.
• To effectively brief the following gate house operative with specific reference to any abnormal condition or variances.
• Handover to the next gate house operative on the next shift, explaining all the details, variables and actions that took place during the shift to enable a smooth and continuous operation.
