Our Client, Manchester City Council, is seeking an Adults Social Worker to join their Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Provide leadership within the Mental Health Social Work Service with regards to people requiring statutory reviews under the Care Act and Mental Health Act (S117)
  • Work alongside individuals, families, providers, and health colleagues to ensure care remains personalised, proportionate, and outcomes led.
  • Take initiative in building strong relationships with commissioners and providers to support people who need commissioned care and resolve challenges collaboratively.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Health Act 1983 (Section 117), applying legislation confidently to information gathered during reviews.
  • Engage in high-level conversations across health and social care systems regarding individuals’ needs for care and support, including situations where there may be disagreements about funding.
  • Promote strengths-based, trauma-informed, and person-centred practice throughout the review process.
  • Collaborate with commissioners and providers to share insights that inform service planning and sustainability.
  • Act early to identify changes in need, preventing crises and maintaining stability for individuals.

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have a Social Work qualification (Diploma in social work, social work degree or equivalent)
  • Must have minimum of 3 years experience post qualifying working as a Qualified social worker
