A well-established construction business is looking to appoint an Assistant Financial Controller to support the Group Financial Controller in managing day-to-day financial operations. The business turns over around £150m annually and you will be joining a finance team of 12. There is tangible progression to Group Financial Controller in the short term.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and board reporting packs.

• Lead on project cost tracking and reporting, including WIP and margin analysis.

• Support the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with auditors.

• Manage cash flow forecasting and treasury reporting.

• Oversee key balance sheet reconciliations and control processes.

• Work with commercial teams to ensure accurate project accounting and reporting.

• Supervise junior finance team members and support ongoing development.

• Identify and implement process improvements and support systems enhancements.

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.

• Strong background in construction, civil engineering, or related sectors preferred.

• Experience in project accounting, cost control, and financial analysis.

• Detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

• Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams.
