Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain Management-Procurement and the Springtown Plant Manager, the Procurement and Materials Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of leading sourcing strategies that deliver cost efficiencies, supplier assurance and quality in the procurement of industrial components for use in remanufacturing and field service operations of oilfield equipment. The candidate will be required to identify and screen suppliers, develop strategic relationships, negotiate commercial and legal terms and conditions and continuously drive improved supplier service levels through effective leadership. The candidate will be recognized as being an expert negotiator, with a specific focus on ensuring procurement strategies, processes and program executions are fully integrated to support Warrior’s objectives and growth potential.
Develop and execute a strategic plan focused on supporting the objectives of reducing cost, ensuring supply, managing inventory and driving supplier performance using local and corporate resources to achieve results
Lead and coordinate all procurement/materials management activities involved in the acquisition of raw materials, parts, equipment and services for Warrior delivering the highest value, consistent with delivery requirements and quality specifications
Lead the negotiation, buying and purchase order creation processes
Reviews purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness, approves requisitions, designates approved suppliers and assigns requisitions for processing
Coordinate and expedite flow of materials, parts and assemblies within a cross functional environment in accordance with production / shipping schedules or department priorities
Reviews production schedules and determines materials required or, on overdue materials, coordinates location or expediting of materials as required
Create and monitor ERP metrics and leverage information on the sales forecasts to optimize inventory levels and replenish products when required and maintain optimum
Analyze data to improve the inventory management and procurement processes
Work with accounts payable to ensure payments are made to suppliers
Recommend changes to purchasing procedures and policies to upper management when and where appropriate
Assures materials, goods, labor, equipment, supplies and other requirements are delivered in good order at the required time and delivering the best total value
Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes and other data to plan and develop logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life-cycle of product
Recommends vendors for contracts bids and awards; reviews bids to ensure adherence to Warrior policies and procedures
Communicates with supplier changes in specifications, change orders and quantity adjustments
Oversee production schedule activities by monitoring material inventories, tracking progress of production and review factors that affect schedules
Complies data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistical activities
Recommends measures to improve production methods and quality of service and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency
Use Intuitive ERP for purchase order/planning/receiving records system
Lead accuracy of inventory counts in conjunction with finance and take corrective action regarding discrepancies
Identify tools, processes and metrics to optimize supplier value
Keep current with economic, industrial and other trends that may affect markets and prices

Demonstrated ability in the following leadership competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering or related field
Five years or more of previous experience within a supply chain/materials management environment within the oil and gas industry
- Advanced proficiency in MS Suite of Products with exposure to ERP/MRP systems
- Ability to understand, review and problem solve leveraging technical and analytical skills
- Industrial components/oilfield equipment manufacturing background
Possess the PMAC Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or APICS CPIM designation or be working towards it
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills in materials/logistics management
This position requires the person to work in an office environment. Ability to safely navigate manufacturing facility with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc. during normal production/service conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather) including proper use of designated personal protective equipment (PPE).
