£95-105 per day

Qualiteach Yorkshire are looking for an experienced Learning and Behaviour Mentor for a specialist school in Leeds (LS8) for children with complex learning behaviour and medical needs. The setting is an SEN school who work with a mix of ages and are looking for someone with a range of experience to join their team ASAP.

The Role:

* Working with children on a 1:1 and group basis who have a variety of needs, tailoring learning to suit them

* Working within a team and helping to build a comfortable environment for all children and staff, supporting challenging behaviour and SEN requirements

* Following care plans, EHCP's, Pupil Passports and other relevant documents

* Being comfortable with personal care is advantageous

* Using a holistic approach within a multi-disciplinary team of specialists

* Supporting a differentiated national curriculum that is tailored to the needs of the pupils

What you will need:

* Experience of working with children who have complex needs

* A willingness to 'jump in' and help where necessary

* Being competent in helping to prepare the pupils for becoming ready for adulthood through being a positive role model and influence

* The ability to support challenging behaviour, encourage independence and be patient and willing to build long lasting relationships with pupils
