HGV Drainage Tanker Driver

Location: Taunton, Somerset

Contract: Permanent | Full-time

Pay: Up to £17.00 per hour (depending on experience) + enhanced overtime rates + company benefits

This role is with a well-established wastewater and drainage services provider supporting critical infrastructure across the South West.

The business works closely with water authorities, utilities and commercial clients, delivering high-quality drainage, tanker and specialist cleaning services. They have a strong reputation for operational standards and invest heavily in both equipment and people.

This position is aimed at experienced drainage or wastewater HGV drivers who want consistent work, good kit, paid overtime, and a long-term role with a business that values experience.

About the Role

  • Driving and operating Class 2 HGV drainage tankers on wastewater and drainage projects
  • Carrying out vacuum tanker operations, including suction and disposal
  • Working on sewers, wet wells, tanks, siphons and other wastewater assets
  • Supporting jetting and cleaning operations as part of a skilled site team
  • Manual handling including suction hoses, site clean-ups and debris removal
  • Working in confined spaces and challenging environments
  • Completing digital site reports, job sheets and vehicle checks
  • Maintaining vehicles and equipment to high operational standards
  • Frequent travel and working away is required
  • Participation in the on-call rota

About You

  • Full Clean UK Class 2 (Cat C) HGV licence (essential)
  • At least 2 years driving experience of a HGV is preferable
  • Valid CPC card
  • Proven experience in drainage, wastewater, tanker or jetting operations
  • Confident operating vacuum tankers and associated equipment
  • Strong understanding of site safety and safe systems of work
  • Reliable, professional and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Comfortable with hands-on work and outdoor environments
  • Willing to travel and stay away
  • Right to work in the UK
