Financial AccountantContract: Fixed-Term ContractSalary: £45,000-£55,000I’m supporting a highly respected organisation in Stockton with the recruitment of a Financial Accountant on a fixed-term contract. You’ll play a key role in strengthening financial governance, delivering accurate reporting, and supporting business-wide performance. The RoleReporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of core financial accounting responsibilities, including:

• Delivery of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, cost allocation and balance sheet analysis.
• Preparation of statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP and Group IFRS.
• Ensuring strong internal controls, complete reconciliations, and robust working papers.
• Leading on assigned areas of the year-end audit, including preparing audit evidence and liaising with auditors.
• Managing month-end processes across revenue, accruals, payroll, tax, fixed assets, stock and provisions.
• Preparation and review of VAT returns, payroll tax compliance and P11Ds.
• Working with operational teams to enhance processes, improve reporting and embed new systems and controls.
• Supporting stock management processes, including quarterly stock takes and WIP valuation.

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified.
• Experienced in financial or management accounting roles.
• Strong technically, with knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.

• Able to work at pace and manage multiple deadlines.
• A collaborative communicator who enjoys partnering with non-finance colleagues.
