Ten90 Agency is seeking an empathetic and proactive Hostel Worker to join a well-established not-for-profit housing provider that delivers vital support services across Luton. This is a unique opportunity to provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to individuals living in hostel accommodation as they take steps toward independence.

The Role

As a Hostel Worker, you'll be the primary point of contact for residents, helping them build confidence, develop life skills, and access essential services. Working as part of a small, dynamic team, you'll support residents with practical day-to-day needs and longer-term personal development-empowering each individual to make positive, sustainable changes in their life.

This is a shift-based role with working hours of 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, and 1pm-8:30pm, and includes some weekend working (approximately 1 in 4 weekends).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct support and assist with the smooth day-to-day running of hostel services
  • Use psychologically-informed methods to coach and guide customers in a respectful, non-judgmental manner* Manage your own caseload and provide tailored support sessions
  • Create and implement risk and support plans for individuals
  • Collaborate with local partners and professionals (social services, health, police, etc.)
  • Promote a safe, secure and welcoming environment
  • Support customers in developing independent living skills
  • Maintain accurate digital support records and reports
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and housing-related policies and procedures

✅ Experienced in working with vulnerable individuals or in housing/social care settings
✅ A strong communicator who builds trust and sets clear boundaries
✅ Knowledgeable about welfare rights, safeguarding, and trauma-informed practices
✅ A creative problem solver with a customer-focused mindset

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
