CHP Energy Maintenance Manager

Annual Salary : Up to £55k + Bonus

Leaders in district heating networks have secured a contract with Battersea Power Station Retail Park, and are looking for a Maintenance Manager with CHP Plant experience to oversee operations and manage teams.

Knowledge and experience of managing CHP equipment is integral but if If you're looking to take a step away from a technical production role and move towards a Managerial position to focus on coordinating the operations and monitoring the energy levels to keep them at bay, this is the role for you!

As the Maintenance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of both industrial and smaller-scale installations while contributing to a more sustainable future.

Role Responsibilities

- Orchestrating the activities of a team of M+E Engineers responsible for a 24/7 District Energy Heating and Chilling system.
- Collaborating with the technical administrator to manage the site's planned maintenance system.
- Guiding engineers to ensure the efficient execution of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, all while maintaining the highest professional standards.
- Enforcing compliance with L8 regulations, championing health, safety, and environmental sustainability.
- Facilitating the completion of leave and sickness forms, guaranteeing seamless coverage during absences.
- Reviewing and endorsing timesheets for authorization by the Operations Manager.
- Cultivating client relationships, actively participating in meetings, and supporting the Operations Manager as needed.
- Ensuring adequate staffing levels for both shift and day operations by proficiently managing leave and absences.
- Assessing workload, setting priorities, and efficiently delegating tasks to designated Engineers and Operatives.
- Placing purchase orders within the organization's procurement system.
- Upholding rigorous safety standards and consistently enforcing the Site Safety Operating Framework (SSOF).

Qualifications and Skills Required

- Mechanical or electrical certification or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience in reciprocating engine CHP operation and maintenance.
- Proficiency in large-scale boiler/heating systems from both mechanical and electrical perspectives.
- Proven expertise in staff management, including effective workload and performance monitoring.
- A track record of managing operational compliance, covering areas like gas, electrical systems, and pressure systems.
- Strong presentation, influencing, and motivational abilities.
- An unwavering attention to detail and a deep understanding of risk management.
- A valid driver's license.
