Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to work with young adults with diverse special educational needs? If so, we have an exciting position available in a Post 16 SEND class at a SEND school in Bromsgrove, where you'll have the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of their students. Although the job is Temporary, through Monarch Education to begin with. Most likely, you will be offered a permanent job at the end of the contract.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Teaching Assistant in one of their Post 16 SEND classes, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a small group of young adults who have diverse needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating effectively with the class teacher and fellow Teaching Assistants to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Providing one-on-one and group support to students with MLD, Down Syndrome, ASC, and SEMH needs.
  • Implementing and adapting teaching strategies and resources to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Assisting with behaviour management, applying your skills to create a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
  • Building strong and nurturing relationships with students to promote their social and emotional well-being.
  • Supporting students in developing essential life skills and independence as they transition to adulthood.
  • Contributing to the assessment and monitoring of student progress.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to establish a positive and structured classroom environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with young adults.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to working with students with diverse needs.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs is desirable.
