Are you an experienced residential childcare professional ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for a Senior Residential Care Practitioner to join a warm, supportive 2-bed children's home in Derby, where your leadership and care will make a lasting difference in young people's lives.

The Role

As a Senior Residential Care Practitioner, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, therapeutic care while supporting and guiding your team on shift.

You will:

* Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the home

* Provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people

* Support, mentor, and guide junior staff members

* Contribute to care planning and risk assessments

* Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people

* Promote independence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing

What We're Looking For

* Minimum 1 year's experience managing or leading a team within children's residential care

* Strong knowledge of residential childcare practices and safeguarding

* Relevant childcare qualification (as per regulatory requirements)

* Full UK driving licence (essential)

* Passion, resilience, and a genuine commitment to improving young lives

Working Pattern:

This is a full-time role based on a structured rota:

* 56.4 hours per week (including sleep-ins)

* Shift pattern: 08:00 - 11:00 (following day) with sleep-in and handover

* 3-week rolling rota, averaging 10 shifts per month

* Includes training, meetings, and development hours (approx. 244.5 hours per month)
