Salary: £60000 - £90000/annum

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Bid Manager to join our team at a leading main contracting construction company. The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end bid process, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop compelling, compliant, and competitive tender submissions. This is a key strategic role, pivotal to securing new business and supporting the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full bid lifecycle from initial expression of interest through to submission and post-tender negotiation.

*

Lead multidisciplinary bid teams, including estimators, planners, designers, and commercial staff, ensuring timely and quality outputs.

*

Analyse tender documentation to determine client requirements and strategic approach.

*

Develop win strategies, bid programmes, and submission schedules, ensuring compliance with client instructions and deadlines.

*

Write, edit, and coordinate high-quality proposal content, ensuring consistency in tone, structure, and branding.

*

Organise and lead bid reviews, kick-off meetings, and debrief sessions to capture lessons learned.

*

Coordinate with marketing, design, and technical teams to develop engaging visuals and presentations.

*

Liaise with external consultants, suppliers, and joint venture partners as required during the bid process.

*

Monitor market intelligence, industry trends, and competitor activity to help shape winning strategies.

*

Maintain and improve bid tools, templates, and knowledge databases.

Requirements:

*

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.

*

Proven experience (5+ years) in a Bid Manager or similar role within a main contractor environment.

*

Strong understanding of the tendering process, particularly within the construction industry.

*

Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.

*

High-level writing and editing skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.

*

Experience working with frameworks, D&B (Design and Build), and two-stage tender processes.

*

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and bid management tools (e.g., InDesign, MS Project, CRM systems).

Preferred Qualifications:

*

APMP certification or equivalent bid/proposal management accreditation.

*

Familiarity with public sector procurement and PQQ/ITT requirements.

*

Experience in managing high-value, complex bids (£10m+).
