Job Title: Food Service Assistant
Location: Rushden
Hours: 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM, Monday to Friday

About the Role:

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Food Service Assistant to join our team at a school in Rushden. The successful candidate will play an essential role in supporting the smooth running of the school's food service operations, helping to provide nutritious and appealing meals for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Serving meals and snacks to students and staff in a friendly and efficient manner

Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas

Assisting with food preparation and portion control

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

Supporting lunch-time supervision and helping maintain a calm and orderly dining environment

Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment and utensils

Assisting with stock rotation and storage

Requirements:

Must have a valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Food Safety Certificate Level 2 (or willingness to obtain certification promptly)

Reliable and punctual with own transport or live locally to ensure consistent attendance

Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential—training will be provided

Friendly and approachable attitude with the ability to work well within a team
