JOB DESCRIPTION: Faraday Semi seeks a Reliability Manager to lead the reliability engineering efforts based on the company “product Life Cycle” model (Power Management focused), which includes Product Design Validation, Product Qualification, and Product Launch for u POL (Point of Load) Power Management Products. Conduct “risk Assessment” of new products from early design to volume production. Define and manage schedules for reliability activities to identify and mitigate risks, manage early signs of failure, search for root cause of failure, and create and implement corrective actions, to achieve “product reliability / quality” requirements. Work closely with Cross Functional Teams (CFT). Conduct statistical data analysis. Develop models to predict failure rates and lifetime including FIT & PPM. Develop and implement accelerated stress and reliability analysis methodology on “Physics” of failure. Develop reliability qualification test plans and reports. Provide customer support related to product reliability / qualifications. Act as a driver / facilitator of continuous improvement; working on proactive and preventive changes. Understand Faraday Semi uPOL technology and managing manufacturing process, product functionality, device structures and their influence on product reliability. Lead cross functional team activities aimed in continuous development / improvement of the Failure Analysis processes including methods / tools needed such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagrams, DOEs, effective Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, throughout the organization. Lead DPPM reduction activities aiming at an ongoing DPPM reduction across all products focusing on achieving target zero DPPM for all products. Present Quality group in CFT meetings, driving all quality issues to proper closure. Define and drive development / implementations of “Ramp up” processes (similar to Safe Launch process for Automotive products) for new products. QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate for this position must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. The qualifications and working conditions listed below are representative of those required for the position. BS / MS in a technical discipline (EE, ME, Device Physics, Material Science, or similar subjects); PhD degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience in semiconductor reliability, yield and failure analysis. Power Management and/or automotive product experience is strongly desired. Understanding of the Physics behind Material Properties (thermal, mechanical), especially those related to Power Management semiconductor devices. Experience with test, characterization and / or accelerated reliability testing of Power Management devices, and Design of Experiments (DOE). Ability to drive the failure analysis of defective parts including identification of the root casus of failures from existing reliability stress and failure analysis data. Familiarity with Power Management and automotive best practices: JEDEC Standards, Automotive AECQ100 Standards, and ISO certification, in particular ISO9001, requirements. Familiarity with measurement system analysis (MSA) including performing GR&R. Familiarity in performing failure mode & effect analysis (FMEA) both Design (DFMEA) and process (PFMEA) is desired. Complete familiarity with complete semiconductor life cycle (from concept phase to EOL) is a must. Experience in Semiconductor environment NPI activities. Experience in SPC (Statistical Process Control). Experience working with Foundry and Assembly (packaging) processes and qualification. Excellent verbal and written communication. Experience in direct customer / supplier interface is a must. Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus. Familiarity of the fundamental Automotive product quality core elements / tools, including Process and Design FMEAs, MSA, SPC (Process capability & Process performance of variable data, Control chart), PPAP, APQP, and CAPA is a plus. Excellent people skills, organizational skills, program management capability, and the ability of managing multiple projects with competing priorities in parallel is required. Complete proficiency in use of the Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project) is required. Ability to work in a very fast paced, process driven / result oriented with a sense of urgency and passion is a must.
