Prospero Teaching is delighted to be supporting a welcoming Primary School in Portsmouth who are looking for a passionate and qualified teacher to join their team as a Reading Intervention Teacher.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children's learning by helping them develop a lifelong love of reading.

What you'll be doing:

Inspiring pupils to grow their confidence and skills in reading

Leading targeted reading interventions across KS1 and KS2

Planning and timetabling engaging sessions

Creating and sharing high‑quality learning resources

Teaching phonics and supporting literacy development

Working closely with the Headteacher, staff, parents, and pupils to ensure success

What we're looking for:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Previous teaching experience in KS1 or KS2

A relevant degree (or higher)

Enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive

Role details:

Location: Portsmouth

Position: Reading Intervention Teacher

Start date: January 2026

Duration: Long‑term, ongoing

Hours: Full‑time, Monday-Friday (8:00am-4:00pm)

Pay: In line with Main Teacher Pay Scale
