HBSS is currently hiring an Investigator in Berkeley investigating potential securities, antitrust violations and consumer fraud and corporate misconduct. This investigator will work closely with the attorneys to identify and interview confidential witnesses, document findings, and develop cases. This is a role for a dynamic self-starter seeking fast-paced and interesting work serving investors and consumers. Core Responsibilities: Assist in identifying potential securities, antitrust violations and consumer fraud and corporate misconduct. Identify and interview confidential witnesses in coordination with firm attorneys Document findings Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience in law enforcement, intelligence or investigative journalism environment required. Financial or accounting background a plus. Solid interview skills and ability to develop rapport with witnesses Exceptional analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, verbal and written communication skills. Results oriented, self-starter, with a high level of initiative. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with internal and external contacts at all levels. Ability to work independently, shift focus, adapts to changing priorities, and maintains composure in high pressure situations. Must manage highly confidential information with professionalism and unquestionable integrity. Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel) Superior academic and employment credentials.
