About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and proactive Education Support Worker to join our team, supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a school environment.

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to provide tailored, person‑centred support that helps students re-engage with learning, build confidence, and overcome barriers to education.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
Help implement personalised behaviour, support, and learning plans.
Assist in creating a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Build strong, trusting relationships with students through consistent, calm support.
Use de‑escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
Support emotional regulation, resilience, and social development.
Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and wider school teams.
Monitor progress and contribute to reports and reviews as required.
Promote independence and a positive attitude toward learning.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people.
Patient, understanding, and able to remain calm under pressure.
Confident using behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies.
Able to build positive, professional relationships quickly.
Adaptable and able to respond to individual student needs.
A strong communicator with excellent teamwork skills.
Reliable, proactive, and committed to making a difference.
Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or in school settings is desirable, but full training is available for the right candidate.
