The School is a Pupil Referral Unit that is committed to providing the best education possible for some of the most vulnerable children and young people in the Mendip Area. The school is situated in Glastonbury and opened in 2018. 

The Role

They are seeking a passionate KS3 / KS4 teacher (mathematics) who is confident and skilled in working with learners who have SEMH needs; supporting them in developing their academic skills as well as supporting their social emotional needs, to join the team.

Key Responsibilities                                          

To plan, design and produce lessons, teaching materials and resources which are appropriate to age and ability and sequenced to promote depth of knowledge
Create plans that are appropriate to the age and ability of the students so as to facilitate progression in students' holistic development
To treat students, staff and parents fairly, equitably and with dignity and respect to create and maintain a positive school culture
To actively form meaningful relationships with vulnerable young people
Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of students
Carry out a share of supervisory duties in accordance with published rotas
Participate in appropriate meetings with colleagues and parents
Skills and Qualifications

Honours degree or equivalent
Qualified Teacher Status
Experience of working with vulnerable young people in a mainstream or specialist setting
An understanding and knowledge of a range of creative and vocational education courses and how to adapt them for disaffected or disengaged learners
