Mixed Tax Manager

We are seeking a Mixed Tax Manager to join the growing tax department of a leading mid-tier practice. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a tax professional with a strong background in tax compliance and advisory services to manage a diverse portfolio of clients.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide technical support and research in delivering tax services, liaising with the relevant Partner.
- Prepare complex personal tax returns and undertake tax planning, projects, and compliance matters.
- Delegate work effectively to assistants and trainees, review their work, and provide constructive feedback.
- Apply technical knowledge in areas such as residency, ordinary residency, domicile, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and the taxation of death estates and trusts.
- Take responsibility for the delivery of complete tax computations and returns for advanced jobs, dealing with all aspects of tax accounting.
- Address tax issues affecting company owners, including cash extraction and business asset disposal relief.
- Collaborate with the team to share knowledge and achieve team goals, coaching and developing others to build their tax knowledge.
- Build a profile as a technical expert, develop a network of professional contacts, and attend events to enhance visibility.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, write content for articles, and research specific topics as directed.
- Identify opportunities to win new work in conjunction with Partners and engage positively with the business, advocating the firm’s values.
- Take responsibility for personal and professional development, progressing learning and career progression.
- Act with honesty, fairness, and integrity, respecting confidentiality and building trust with clients and team members.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Professionally qualified (e.g., ATT or CTA) and qualified by experience.
- 10 - 12 years of experience in tax.
- Strong technical and compliance knowledge with an area of expertise relevant to client portfolio.
- Effective management of business risk and use of business tools.
- Excellent communication, client handling, and relationship skills.
- Awareness of financial targets and constraints and ability to seek innovative solutions.
- Strong business acumen with good networking and rapport building skills.
- Marketing and business development skills with a demonstrated effective management and leadership style.
