A great opportunity has arisen for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a highly rated primary school in Widnes. This will be a full-time role and for the right candidate this role will be on a long-term contract basis and for the rest of the academic year. This school is seeking a motivated, caring and passionate person to join their team.

Your new role

In this role as a SEND Teaching Assistant you will be working closely with a child with complex ASD. You will be carrying out targeted interventions that have been adapted to the child to ensure all their needs are met. On a daily basis you will need to provide them with the necessary tools to complete day to day tasks whether that be inside or outside the classroom. For this role you will need to be flexible and adaptable as there may be many different situations you need to adapt to quickly.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience of working with children either within or outside a school setting
  • Ability to work on a 1:1 basis.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching assistant qualification is essential for this role
  • Experience working within a classroom environment or a professional environment with children or young people
  • Ability to work alongside children with SEN needs.
  • Fun, positive and outgoing approach.
  • Understanding of the EHCP, ideal but not essential.
  • Current DBS or willingness to get one Is necessary.
