Civil Engineer
We are working with a growing, design-focused civil and structural engineering consultancy delivering practical and efficient solutions across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The team is known for its hands-on approach, technical quality, and ability to deliver cost-effective designs from concept through to construction.
Due to continued project wins, they are looking to appoint a Civil Engineer to support and lead the delivery of infrastructure and drainage design packages.
 
Key Responsibilities
·Undertake the design of infrastructure for residential and mixed-use developments
·Prepare and review detailed designs for:
oSurface and foul water drainage systems (including SuDS)
oHighways, access roads, and external works
oEarthworks and site levels
·Produce technical reports, calculations, and design submissions
·Manage and coordinate Section 38, 104, and 278 applications
·Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and approval agencies
·Collaborate with architects, planners, and other consultants to develop efficient design solutions
·Support project delivery through all stages, from feasibility to construction
·Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians where required
 
Requirements
·Experience working as a Civil Engineer within a consultancy environment
·Strong background in residential or development-led infrastructure design
·Proficient in relevant software such as:
oMicroDrainage / InfoDrainage
oAutoCAD (Civils 3D desirable)
·Good understanding of UK design standards, including:
oSuDS and drainage strategies
oHighways design (Manual for Streets, DMRB where applicable)
·Experience with adoption processes (S38, S104, S278)
·Ability to manage workload independently and meet project deadlines
·Strong communication skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders
 
Desirable
·Working towards or achieved professional qualification (ICE or similar)
·Experience in flood risk assessments and drainage strategies
·Familiarity with BIM processes and 3D modelling
·Experience attending client and design team meetings
