Salary: £300 - £400 per day

This 6-month interim Financial Controller role puts you at the heart of a mission-driven organisation within the education and charity sector, offering autonomy, variety and the chance to shape processes in a complex, multi-entity finance environment.You’ll be stepping into a business-critical role during a period of internal change, helping to streamline operations, manage key reporting cycles and guide a capable team through transformation.What’s in it for you:

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for:
  • Managing 4 team members, QBE/PQ
  • Leading and improving a phased month-end close process
  • Reviewing and signing off on weekly payment runs and data
  • Overseeing reconciliations across multiple systems (AP, AR, credit cards, fund accounting)
  • Liaising with external stakeholders for fund accounting and internal stakeholders for fundraising income reporting
  • Being involved in cashflow management and delivering insight to support decision-making
  • Supporting and advising on automation, data analysis and financial process efficiency
  • Handling ad hoc financial projects
What you will need:
  • To be a qualified accountant ( ACCA / CIMA / ACA ) or QBE with experience in education or not-for-profits
  • Experience in a similar role, such as Interim Financial Controller / Financial Controller / Finance Director / Head of Finance / Senior Finance Manager / Senior Accountant
  • To be confident leading teams and streamlining financial operations
  • Ability to navigate complex data and reporting structures, with strong Excel skills
  • Strong reconciliations, month-end and cashflow experience
