Controls Engineer - South Yorkshire - £40-48k + overtime + private healthcare + flexi-time system

Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Controls Engineer to join a rapidly expanding system integrator in the South Yorkshire area.

This role could suit a Controls Engineer with at least 3 years relevant/recent experience.

Controls Engineers applying for the role are likely to have experience in some of the following packages/areas -

* Experience in developing PLC software for range of major manufacturers e.g. Rockwell, GE or Siemens

* SCADA experience e.g. Wonderware, Siemens, Rockwell, GE

* Functional Safety systems in accordance with IEC 61508 / 61511

* Electrical knowledge i.e. by able to interpret existing electrical drawings so you can fault find

* Good knowledge of communication protocols

* Strong faultfinding on hardware and software

* Ability to write high quality Test & Functional Design Specifications

The successful Controls Engineer will work as part of a project team delivering control system projects to the client's customer base. You will formulate high quality Functional Design Specifications to meet the requirements, develop software to meet the functional requirements and carry out the functional testing. The Controls Manager estimates the role of Controls Engineer will have an 80/20 split between working in the office and being based on customer sites

The office is commutable from the following places - Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, South Leeds, Doncaster, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Chesterfield and Worksop.
