Role: Validation Engineer - MHEV Systems

Work Mode & Location: Office based / Gaydon, Warwickshire

Duration: 6 month Contract with extension

Rate: Based on Market (Inside IR35)

Our client, a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions is urgently seeking an experienced Validation Engineer - MHEV Systems, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful integration, verification, and validation of mild-hybrid propulsion systems across vehicle programmes. This position combines hands-on vehicle and rig testing, fault diagnosis, structured validation planning, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure system readiness and performance.

Key Responsibilities

* Support investigation and resolution of propulsion system issues

* Provide technical support during vehicle builds and Pilot (PIL) phases

* Perform vehicle and system-level fault diagnosis for ICE/MHEV powerpacks

* Develop DVPs, validation plans, test cases, procedures, and requirements

* Support system definition, integration, and validation activities

* Analyse rig and vehicle data to identify issues and improvement actions

* Collaborate across engineering domains, suppliers, and programme teams

* Apply structured problem-solving approaches to resolve complex issues

Essential Skills & Experience

* Strong knowledge of ICE and MHEV propulsion systems with integration exposure

* Basic understanding of hybrid and EV propulsion architectures

* Working knowledge of electrical engineering and battery technologies

* Experience managing powertrain technical issues and validation activities

* Experience in engineering facilities, rigs, and vehicle testing environments

* Proficiency with diagnostic/data tools such as INCA, CANalyzer, Corvus, MATLAB, PicoScope or MDA

* Experience solving technical issues using structured methods (e.g. Six Sigma)

* Familiarity with Systems Engineering approaches
