Mechanical Engineer

• Annual Salary: £35-40k
• Location: Kendal
• Job Type: Full-time Days or 4 on 4 off

We are seeking Mechanical Engineers to join our award-winning brand, As part of their 180-person team, you will be instrumental in ensuring our production meets engineering standards and efficiency.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Perform both reactive and proactive maintenance on a variety of process equipment.
• Carry out regular maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and reactive maintenance as directed.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns across a range of equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
• Support Team Leaders and Production to facilitate production efficiency.
• Maintain documentation to provide historical records of breakdowns and PPMs.
• Ensure all required paperwork is kept maintained and up to date.
• Operate in a safe manner adhering to Health & Safety best practices, ensuring minimal risk.
• Comply with hygiene procedures by wearing the correct PPE.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent in Engineering Maintenance or Manufacture.
• Time-served engineer/fitter.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplined team environment.
• Knowledge/experience of working with controls, analysing faults, and providing solutions.
• Experience in both reactive and preventative maintenance.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet operational requirements.
• Some knowledge/training in electrics and hydraulics is advantageous.
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited instruction.
