Commercial Accountant –
Fixed term contract for c.15 months

Are you a commercially focused finance professional with strong experience of revenue analysis, commercial pricing, tendering processes and business case scenarios?
I am looking for a Commercial Accountant with outstanding Finance Business Partnering skills to join my client’s team and lead strategic financial planning and drive business growth.
Your remit will support their Growth division in delivering the company’s vision of becoming the UK’s leading provider of early morning end-to-end supply chain solutions, leveraging its unique overnight distribution network.
The purpose of your new role
As the Commercial Accountant you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing short, medium, and long-term strategic plans across three key verticals. You’ll provide best-in-class financial business partnering, supporting tenders, investment appraisals and business cases, forecasting, and performance analysis to drive commercial success.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead financial input on tenders and pricing decisions, including business case development.
- Track and analyse revenue, return of investment, and performance of new and existing customers, delivering actionable insights.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across revenue and cost lines.
- Present monthly performance updates to the CFO and Executive team.
- Ensure timely, high-quality output through strong planning and organisational skills.
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting and processes in collaboration with wider finance teams.
To thrive in this maternity cover you need:
- To be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- Strong commercial acumen
- To be skilled in investment appraisal, business case development, tendering processes, commercial pricing and financial modelling.
- Demonstrable experience of partnering closely with Sales teams
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate in cross-functional environments.
- Significant experience in forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency.
