SEN Teaching Assistant | Alternative Provision Secondary School | High Peak (SK23) | £95-£105 per day | Long Term Role | Starting September 2025

The Opportunity:

  • Join a dedicated team at a specialist Alternative Provision (AP) secondary school in the High Peak (SK23), supporting students with autism, behavioural challenges, and complex needs who require a more tailored educational environment than mainstream settings can offer.
  • This is a long-term, full-time role starting in September 2025, ideal for experienced SEN practitioners looking to make a lasting impact.
  • Work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to deliver targeted support.
  • Excellent long-term career development opportunities.
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Term-time only role, paid up to £105 per day.
  • Immediate trial days, with potential for long-term placement with free car parking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored support under the direction of the SENCo to meet the needs of pupils with autism and behavioural issues.
  • Helping maintain a calm, and structured learning environment using effective behaviour management strategies.
  • As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs.
  • Help pupils stay engaged in class by adapting resources and tasks as needed.
  • Promote inclusion and support students' emotional and academic development.
  • Assist students in developing independence, organisation, and confidence.
  • Collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams to monitor and adjust interventions

Who We're Looking For:

  • Aminimum Level 3 qualification and a driving licence is essential.
  • Experience working in an Alternative Provision, PRU, or specialist SEN setting (preferred).
  • Strong background in supporting students with ASD, SEMH, or behavioural challenges.
  • Someone who is proactive, adaptable, and able to step into the role with confidence, ready to make an immediate, positive impact
  • Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to managing behaviour.
  • Passion for inclusive education and helping young people succeed against the odds.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fully committed to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
