Salary: £25,000 – £28,000Location: WakefieldAbout the OpportunityI’m currently supporting a long-established UK manufacturer and distributor of building products that is expanding its digital and eCommerce function. They are now seeking an enthusiastic eCommerce Marketing Assistant to join their team in Wakefield. This is an excellent role for someone early in their career who can demonstrate hands-on eCommerce experience and is looking to develop further in a growing digital environment.Role OverviewWorking within the marketing and commercial teams, you’ll support key activities across online product presentation, digital content creation, marketplace optimisation, and performance reporting. This role offers excellent exposure to real eCommerce operations and will suit someone who enjoys data-driven work with a creative edge.Key Responsibilities
• Maintain, update, and optimise product listings across the company website and online partner platforms.
• Create and refine product descriptions, features, and technical data.
• Ensure product imagery, documents, and digital assets are current and high-quality.
• Support email campaigns, promotions, and digital initiatives.
• Assist with social media content creation and scheduling.
• Track product performance, website engagement, and online sales trends.
• Prepare performance reports and highlight optimisation opportunities.
• Work with sales, marketing, and customer service to ensure product accuracy.
• Assist with customer or merchant queries when needed.Skills & ExperienceEssential:
• Ability to demonstrate practical eCommerce experience (from employment, internships, marketplace work, or projects).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with product data.
• Clear written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of eCommerce or digital marketing principles.
• Good working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets.
• Proactive mindset with willingness to learn.Ideal Candidates:
• Recent marketing graduates with proven eCommerce experience, or
• Early-career marketers who have worked with eCommerce tools or platforms.Desirable (Not Essential):
• Experience with CMS or eCommerce systems.
• Basic SEO understanding.
• Experience using design tools such as Canva or Photoshop.
