Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a reliable and enthusiastic Design & Technology (DT) Technician to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Southwark. This is a full-time, long-term position starting immediately, offering an exciting opportunity to support hands-on learning across multiple DT disciplines.

About the Role:
As a DT Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the Design & Technology department. You'll prepare materials and equipment, support practical lessons, and help maintain a safe and creative workshop environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain tools, machinery, and materials for DT lessons

Support teachers and students during practical sessions in areas such as woodwork, metalwork, graphics, or food technology

Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times

Carry out routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment

Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and managing resources

Contribute to displays and school events showcasing students' work

Requirements:

Previous experience as a DT Technician or in a similar practical/technical role

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

A proactive, safety-conscious, and hands-on approach

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
