Set up under the Gambling Act 2005, the Gambling Commission is committed to safeguarding the public against any detrimental impact brought about by gambling. We do this by keeping crime out, protecting children and vulnerable people and ensuring the commercial gambling industry is run fairly and openly. We work with the legal system, the public health system, community groups and the industry itself to understand how we can protect the interests of as many people as possible, as effectively as possible.

We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join us in London or Birmingham and contribute to the 4th National Lottery Competition to determine the next operator of the National Lottery.

Your Role

As a Project Manager, you will support the Programme Manager and the Senior Responsible Owner to ensure that the programme successfully delivers against time, cost and quality parameters.

You will be making sure that project milestones are met and the end result is a National Lottery Licensee that will uphold the standards and quality of previous licence holders.

Specifically, your role will involve:

- Taking the lead on programme planning and updating
- Co-ordinating the work of individual workstreams
- Supporting Workstream Leads in day-to-day planning and scheduling
- Assuring that dependencies and risks to delivery are properly identified
- Negotiating resources to support workstreams
- Dealing with issues promptly and ensuring timely escalation
- Recruiting, developing and coaching colleagues
- Ensuring programme Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies are being accurately recorded and tracked
- Leading continuous improvement activities

About You

To be considered as a Project Manager, you will need:

- Strong knowledge of programme and project management using recognised approaches and methodologies (such as PRINCE2, MSP and Agile)
- Direct experience of working on, and supporting, complex projects and/or programmes
- Confidence in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders
