An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proactive and capable Houseman to join a large, active private country residence in Oxfordshire.

This is a varied, hands-on position supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a substantial family home. Working closely with the House Manager and Head Housekeeper, you will play a key role in ensuring the property remains organised, presentable, and fully operational at all times.

Working Pattern: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (Weekend working required on a rota basis)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with daily household operations and overall presentation
• Supporting housekeeping with heavy lifting and furniture movement
• Replenishing firewood and preparing fireplaces
• Carrying out light maintenance duties (changing light bulbs, minor repairs, clock winding)
• Assisting with luggage and guest arrivals
• Undertaking light driving duties as required
• Supporting event setup and breakdown
• Preparing outdoor furniture and seasonal areas, including sauna preparation

About You:

• Experienced within a similar private household or estate environment (preferred)
• Practical, hands-on, and a strong problem solver
• In possession of a full UK driving licence (essential)
• Comfortable working around four small to medium-sized dogs
• Flexible and willing to work weekends as part of a rota
• Discreet, reliable, and able to integrate within a small, professional team
