Join Manchester City Council in a pivotal senior leadership role as the Head of Repairs and Maintenance. This role offers the opportunity to lead the strategic delivery of repairs and maintenance services across the Council’s extensive housing portfolio, ensuring high-quality, resident-focused outcomes.
Day-to-Day of the Role
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the strategic direction for all repairs and maintenance activities within Housing Services, ensuring alignment with the Council's vision and objectives.
- Service Delivery & Accountability: Manage a significant annual budget, develop service standards, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- People & Performance Management: Lead a diverse team of professionals, fostering a high-performance culture focused on service excellence.
- Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders including elected Members, contractors, and community partners to enhance service delivery.
- Governance, Reporting & Corporate Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive reports and ensure adherence to all governance and corporate standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven track record in a senior housing management role, with extensive experience in managing repairs and maintenance services.
- Skills: Strong strategic thinking, leadership, financial management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Qualifications: Construction-related qualification or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
- Personal Qualities: Ability to embody the Council’s values, demonstrating passion for Manchester, innovation, collaboration, and fairness.
