Lead Plant Design Engineer - Transmission Projects

Location: Work from home with fortnightly 2 days Glasgow office visits

Reports to: Section Head

Contract: 12-month rolling contract - a long-term opportunity with up to 20 years of projects ahead, offering excellent stability and continuity.

Role

Lead the design and delivery of main plant solutions for transmission networks (132kV+). You'll produce detailed designs and specifications for switchgear, transformers, and substation equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. Provide technical support through all project stages, assess tenders, and resolve design or site issues.

Requirements:

Degree in Electrical Engineering (Chartered or working towards)

Experience in substation/main plant design (33kV-400kV)

*

Strong technical, communication, and safety awareness

*

Knowledge of CDM regulations and UK transmission standard
