Are you a qualified accountant looking for your next leadership role in a fast-growing, dynamic business? We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join a high performing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior position in a business backed by private equity, where you'll play a key role in shaping financial strategy and leading a team.

Client Details

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will oversee a team, covering management accounts, accounts payable, and credit control. This is a broad and hands-on role involving financial reporting, cashflow forecasting, internal controls, audit management, and business partnering. You'll also be exposed to strategic projects, including system implementations and potential acquisitions.

Description

  • Lead and manage a finance team across key functions.

  • Deliver timely and accurate management accounts, board packs, and financial reporting.

  • Own the audit process and ensure statutory compliance (UK GAAP / FRS102).

  • Maintain strong financial controls and carry out regular balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Manage cashflow forecasting and oversee payment processes.

  • Support department heads in understanding and analysing costs.

  • Liaise with external advisors on taxation and compliance matters.

  • Produce group budgets and reforecasts, combining inputs from all departments.

  • Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions.

  • Review and oversee payroll processes.

  • Take a lead role in finance-related strategic projects.

Profile

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, ideally with a background in a Top 10 / Big 4 accountancy firm.

  • At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in industry or practice.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and audit experience.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable working to deadlines.

  • Proven leadership skills with experience developing and mentoring teams.

  • Strong Excel and system skills.

  • Comfortable working predominantly on-site, with occasional travel to other locations.
