Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a heart for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have experience in assisting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

Tradewind are seeking experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work in special schools, offering both day-to-day supply and long-term placements. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of learners with complex needs.

You will work closely with class teachers and the wider SEND team to provide tailored support, ensuring each student can access the curriculum in a meaningful and engaging way. Your work will involve personal care, sensory learning, communication support (e.g., PECS, Makaton), and maintaining a nurturing learning environment.

Essential Requirements:

Proven experience supporting students with SLD and PMLD in a special school setting

Knowledge of alternative communication strategies and sensory-based approaches

A positive, resilient, and empathetic attitude

Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students

Desirable:

Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent)

Manual handling training

Team Teach or similar behaviour management training
