We are looking for a reliable, experienced School Caretaker to join our welcoming primary school in Barking. This is a full-time role offering an immediate start for the right candidate.

As the caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school site is clean, safe, and well-maintained, creating a secure and pleasant environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

• Opening and closing the school site daily

• Carrying out general repairs, maintenance, and DIY tasks

• Monitoring the premises for health & safety compliance

• Liaising with contractors and managing site security

• Supporting cleaning and waste disposal as needed

• Ensuring all areas are safe, tidy, and in good working order

• Has direct caretaking experience in a school setting

• Holds a current Enhanced DBS certificate

• Is proactive, practical, and able to work independently

• Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety

• Is trustworthy, punctual, and dependable
