Interim Financial Controller | High-Growth Manufacturing Business - London with hybrid working - Full-time OR 4 days Part-Time considered

A rapidly expanding manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to lead its finance function during a 5-month transition period. This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact role at the heart of an entrepreneurial, fast-moving business with an impressive growth trajectory.

The OpportunitySupporting the CFO, you'll be working closely with a small, supportive finance team, overseeing all core finance operations, ensuring compliance, delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making. You will be managing three direct reports and expected to hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the month-end close process

• Prepare detailed monthly management accounts and Board packs

• Ensure accuracy of the General Ledger and manage all technical accounting matters

• Oversee statutory compliance, audit preparation, and tax obligations (VAT, R&D, corporation tax, packaging taxes, etc.)

• Own and optimise the finance system (NetSuite or similar)

• Manage payroll and pensions processes

• Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting, systems, and internal controls

• Provide commercial insight and ad-hoc financial analysis as required

• Lead and support a small finance team through a period of transition

About You

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a background in financial control or Head of Finance roles in SME's (sub £50million turnover)

• Proven experience in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing or FMCG-like environment

• Technically strong with deep understanding of compliance, reporting, audit, and payroll

• A natural team leader: pragmatic, approachable, and confident guiding others through change

• System-savvy - ideally experienced with NetSuite or similar ERP tools

• Resilient, detail-focused, and calm under pressure
