Job Description:
This CNC Machinist / Engineer role is ideal for someone with strong CNC milling, turning, and sliding head expertise who enjoys both hands-on machining and process improvement. The successful CNC Machinist / Engineer will manufacture tooling, fixtures, jigs, and bespoke components while supporting prototype builds and engineering-led improvement projects.

A key part of the role is programming Fanuc-controlled machines from scratch, optimising existing programs, improving cycle times, troubleshooting machining issues, and ensuring all parts meet tight tolerances and quality standards. You will work closely with engineering, production, quality, and tooling suppliers to improve manufacturing performance and minimise downtime.

Skills & experience:
We are looking for a CNC Machinist / Engineer with proven experience across CNC lathes, mills, and sliding head machines. You must have programmed Fanuc machines from scratch and be confident selecting tooling, setting speeds and feeds, reading engineering drawings, and using precision inspection equipment including micrometres, verniers, and gauges.

Experience producing tooling, fixtures, and high-precision components is essential. Exposure to prototyping, continuous improvement, process optimisation, and engineering qualifications such as Apprenticeship, NVQ, or City & Guilds would be highly beneficial.
