Pay: £100 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / Primary Cover Support

Are you an experienced educator ready for more responsibility and the chance to lead? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking skilled and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support our partner Primary Schools across Barrow-in-Furness and Ulverston.

This role is a significant step up from a standard Teaching Assistant position, offering you the opportunity to take a lead role in the classroom. You will work across various Primary year groups, providing high-level support and covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

• Leading the Classroom: Step in to lead and deliver pre-planned lessons across the Primary curriculum, ensuring pupils stay on track with their learning.

• 1-1 and Small Group Intervention: Plan and deliver targeted support sessions for pupils who require additional academic stretching or support in core subjects.

• Lesson Support:Plan and mark lessons when covering classes, ensuring continuity and progress for every child.

• Behaviour Management:Confidently manage classroom behaviour, maintaining a positive, respectful, and safe environment for all learners.

• Assessment: Monitor student progress and provide detailed feedback to class teachers or senior leadership.

We are looking for a professional with a strong presence and a deep understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.

• Qualifications: You must hold a recognised HLTA status, a University Degree, or have significant experience as a Lead TA or Cover Supervisor in a school setting.

• Experience: Proven classroom or school-based experience is essential. You must be comfortable working with younger children and handling a higher level of responsibility.

• Transferable Skills: Leadership qualities, excellent communication, adaptability, and the ability to inspire young learners.
