The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Shopfloor Engineer to join a high-volume manufacturing environment supporting production operations at shopfloor level. This is an onsite contract role within a complex, regulated engineering setting, offering long-term stability and the opportunity to contribute directly to operational excellence.

The successful candidate will work closely with production teams and autonomous production units, providing hands-on technical support and problem-solving expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support production teams and Autonomous Production Teams (APT) on the shopfloor
  • Identify, analyse and resolve technical issues beyond operator and first-line management capability
  • Provide an end-to-end technical perspective within the manufacturing environment
  • Support continuous production enablement through effective use of available resources and knowledge
  • Contribute to operational excellence and continuous improvement activities
  • Support identification and reduction of non-conformances on the shopfloor
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven manufacturing or production engineering experience (experience valued over qualifications)
  • Experience working within regulated environments and to defined procedures
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and proactively in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Understanding of product safety and customer focus principles
  • HNC or equivalent qualification desirable but not essential
Work Pattern & Benefits
  • Alternating weekly shifts (Monday-Friday):
    • Morning: 06:00 - 13:10
    • Afternoon: 13:30 - 20:40
  • 20% shift uplift
  • Paid overtime over 35 hours
    • 25% uplift Monday-Friday
    • 50% uplift Saturday-Sunday
