The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a Technical Shopfloor Engineer to join a high-volume manufacturing environment supporting production operations at shopfloor level. This is an onsite contract role within a complex, regulated engineering setting, offering long-term stability and the opportunity to contribute directly to operational excellence.
The successful candidate will work closely with production teams and autonomous production units, providing hands-on technical support and problem-solving expertise.
Key Responsibilities - Support production teams and Autonomous Production Teams (APT) on the shopfloor
- Identify, analyse and resolve technical issues beyond operator and first-line management capability
- Provide an end-to-end technical perspective within the manufacturing environment
- Support continuous production enablement through effective use of available resources and knowledge
- Contribute to operational excellence and continuous improvement activities
- Support identification and reduction of non-conformances on the shopfloor
Skills & Experience Required - Proven manufacturing or production engineering experience (experience valued over qualifications)
- Experience working within regulated environments and to defined procedures
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Understanding of product safety and customer focus principles
- HNC or equivalent qualification desirable but not essential
Work Pattern & Benefits - Alternating weekly shifts (Monday-Friday):
- Morning: 06:00 - 13:10
- Afternoon: 13:30 - 20:40
- 20% shift uplift
- Paid overtime over 35 hours
- 25% uplift Monday-Friday
- 50% uplift Saturday-Sunday
