Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant

  • Part-time (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-12.30pm)
  • £10-£12.50 per hour
  • Start date: September 2021

A school within Great Harwood (BB6) are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant who can add additional support throughout Key Stage 2, predominately Year 4. This role is part-time, 5 days per week starting from September 2021. If the successful applicant gets on well in school, there may be opportunity for this position to become long-term. You would be expected to lead interventions with mixed ability attaining groups across the year groups and supporting in the booster sessions.

The school is a mainstream Primary School, over all, the behaviour within the school is good. Both staff and pupils speak highly of the school and the resources accessible. The successful candidate will be one who has good experience working in Key Stage 2 and someone who can use their own initiative to raise standards in Reading and Writing. The school are hoping to gain their best ever Key Stage 2 results and to ensure they do this the Head teacher and SENCO have selected a number of children who would benefit from an intense booster programme in the new academic year.

The successful candidate must be passionate about working within Education and have excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum across all Key Stage 2. Qualifications of level 2 and above are desirable and plenty of experience within a school setting is a necessity. To be successful you must possess:

-          A Level 2 Qualification or above in 'Supporting Teaching and Learning' or equivalent

-          Vast experience working within a Primary School Setting

-          Excellent Behaviour Management

-          Good knowledge of the National Curriculum  

-          Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of Schools

-          Have the confidence to deliver Maths, English and Reading interventions
