Alecto Recruitment is representing a family-run coach hire company based in Watford, known for their well-maintained fleet and professional service. They provide a wide range of transport solutions-including private hire, school transport, corporate travel, and event shuttles. Our client is looking for an experienced PSV or HGV Mechanic to join their team.

40 hours a week

Mon - Fri or 4 on 4 off

The role:

In this role, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and safety inspections of a modern fleet of coaches and minibuses. Working from their Watford depot, you'll help ensure their vehicles meet the highest safety and performance standards, supporting daily operations and MOT readiness. Key tasks:

Perform routine maintenance and servicing on PSV and minibus vehicles
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
Prepare vehicles for MOT tests and ensure DVSA compliance
Conduct vehicle safety inspections and complete relevant documentation
Carry out repairs efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
Work with diagnostic tools and technical manuals to resolve issues
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Adhere to health and safety procedures within the workshop

Key skills:

Technical knowledge of PSV or HGV systems (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic)
Familiarity with DVSA regulations and MOT preparation
Health & safety awareness within a workshop environment
Qualification in Mechanics is preferred but not essential
