Family Solicitor – Huddersfield

The firm is looking to strengthen its Family Department in Huddersfield by appointing an experienced Solicitor with 5+ years PQE to manage a varied caseload including divorce, private children matters, non-molestation orders and financial relief cases.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload including divorce, private children matters, non-molestation orders and financial relief cases
- Handle files independently, including taking over ongoing matters
- Attend court for directions hearings, first appointments and FDRs
- Draft legal documentation and liaise effectively with clients and third parties
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, including Legal Aid Agency rules and the Solicitors Act
- Support and supervise junior colleagues, including conducting file reviews
Person Specification
- Qualified Family Solicitor with 5+ years PQE (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience handling a broad range of family law matters including divorce, children, financial disputes and domestic abuse
- Experience with TOLATA matters is advantageous
- Excellent client care skills and strong drafting ability
- Confident working with legal aid procedures and billing requirements
- Ability to supervise junior fee earners and meet LAA supervisor criteria
- Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to business development is desirable
